3+1 Best Rooftop Bars in Athens (part 1)
SO many rooftop bars in Athens, yet SO difficult to choose one.
To me - the majority of them seem like a copy of one another, are crowded, the quality of food is questionable, and in the end, it is hard to recall one.
But hey - there are a few exceptions!
I collected the list of my ultimate 3 favorites + 1 extra rooftop bar in Athens.
1. Deos near Panormou Metro Station
Deos in Greek means causing awe, awe-inspiring. IMO, the choice of the name for this place is spot on.
The aesthetic & design of this place are inch-perfect and make me feel like entering a photoshoot for Pinterest.
This rooftop bar has two levels, both impressive, but I recommend staying on the first level, which has more charm to offer.
The cocktails in Deos are more pricey than in other bars and, sadly, I would not call them tastier or better. I believe the higher price is correlated with the value of this place’s experience to make it more “high-end” - got it.
I can’t comment on the overall menu of the place, as snack-type food is, so far, the only thing I have tried there. Although, I admit that their pizza (pinsa), is appetizing and price-worthy.
Deos is located just next to the Panourmou metro station, making it an easy meeting spot. Given the short period and the number of times I have happily visited this place I can surely say it is one of my favorite places to hang out.
2. Ermou 18 Beyond the Horizon at Ermou Street
For a long time, Ermou 18 had been my number-one rooftop bar in Athens.
The place is vibey, both during the night and day, with tasty drinks and shisha accompanied by good music. The food is simply okay.
If you want to enjoy your rooftop bar experience in the center of Athens - put Ermou 18 on your map.
3. Couleur Locale near Monastiraki
The rooftop bar with a difficult-to-pronounce name has the third place in my ranking.
It has a more low-key and local vibe than other rooftops - which I appreciate.
If you do not want to follow the crowd and find a more hidden and not-so-obvious rooftop bar - the Couleur Locale is the one.
4. Attic Urban Rooftop near Monastiraki
Lastly, I added an extra option to visit in the center of Athens - the Attic Urban Rooftop Bar with a breathtaking Acropolis view.
The place is instagrammable in boho style, where you can see many visitors taking pictures with the view.
If you decide to visit this rooftop bar - do it during the day to have the most rewarding view.
